Sure you’ve heard the rumor: LG is not going to present its next flagship at MWC 2018 because its CEO, Jo Seong-jin , ordered a “deep” reconsideration of the phone’s design and performance earlier this month . Such information, from the Korea Herald , has run like wildfire in recent days, to such an extent that the company itself has had to go to deny it. With nuances, of course.

In a statement, LG has confirmed to Engadget that this story about a redesign of the phone from scratch at the last moment is totally false. “Some articles have reported that the LG mobile division is delaying the release of the G7 in order to re-evaluate its performance and design, which is incorrect, and preparations for the launch of the G6 successor are within the timeline.”

The statement continues that “LG intends to focus on the creation of meaningful products rather than launching new products on a calendar based solely on industry expectations and traditions.” The release date of the G7 is currently under consideration. and it will be announced when it’s time. ”

If you notice, in the words issued does not deny the absence of LG G7 in MWC 2018 ; Moreover, it is pointed out that the intention of the brand is to launch valuable products and not adapt to expected programming and established by the technology industry. Clearly, we can intuit that refers to the expectations of seeing the phone at the telephony fair, where it was expected to become official because “it’s what it touches.”

If you were waiting to meet the successor of the LG G6 , we are very afraid that you will have to wait a little longer. Do not worry, I’m sure you do not get to pray too much anyway.
