Motorola at MWC 2018: Moto G6, Moto Z3, Moto X5 and more news

Motorola has been re-emerging with increasing force since the acquisition of Lenovo in 2014. Four years later, and after reusing its full name and not just “Moto”, the brand has begun to define a portfolio of products to the company. that we can keep track with devices for the low, medium and high range that maintain a design code and a pattern of updates.

Currently, Motorola maintains the families Moto C, Moto E, Moto G, Moto X and Moto Z, the latter being the highest level and the first, those in a low-end segment.

A large leak that took place a few weeks ago unveiled a large number of devices that Motorola could launch in the coming months, and at least three of them would be for the Mobile World Congress (MWC), according to the sources explain.

The Moto G6 Plus would be virtually identical to the Moto G6, at least on the outside.

Moto G6 and all its variants in MWC 2018

Last year, during MWC, we met the Moto G5 and G5 Plus, so it would make sense this year to see only the new Moto G6, although later you will see that at least two other phones could surprise us, if the company wants to get ahead of other companies. and win the applause of the public.

A report from Droid Life with a macro filtration of several phones that Motorola launched this year ensures that the Moto G6 will have three versions. All will have a metallic design, although the Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Plus will have a double rear camera. The Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play will have 5.7 inches screen, the first of 18: 9 and the second with 16: 9 aspect. Of course, the Moto G6 will be more complete than the Play, with Snapdragon 450 processor, and versions of 3GB of RAM + 32GB of storage or 4GB + 64GB of storage. It will also have a dual main camera and a front camera with Flash.

The Moto G6 Play would not have a dual camera.

The Moto G6 Plus will have a larger screen of 5.93 inches, Snapdragon 630 processor, dual main camera of 12 + 5 megapixels and front of 16 megapixels with Flash.

If Motorola maintains its launch rate, we would only see these phones, although some reports indicate that we could also see the Moto Z3, which would resemble in some details the Huawei P20 to launch in April and the Moto X5.

Below what we know of both phones.

The Moto Z3 would be your best device

The Moto Z3 could be Motorola’s best bet during the MWC. The device, which was almost completely filtered , would have a 6-inch semi-curved screen, 18: 9 aspect and a Snapdragon 845 processor. A detail of the report that made it known is that there is no visible fingerprint sensor , which makes us wonder if the company decided to place it on the side as Sony phones or if it would be inside the screen.

This team would have two or three main cameras, a trend similar to that which Huawei intends to launch in a special event in March, when the Huawei P20 is released . In addition, according to reports, it would again be compatible with the Moto Mods ecosystem and would have in particular one that will allow it to connect to 5G networks when they are available.

Predictably there will also be a light version of the phone. It will be called Moto Z3 Play, it will have a simpler design, only two rear cameras and a fingerprint sensor on the edge of the equipment. It would also be compatible with Moto Mods.

The Moto X5 would have a front tab like the iPhone X.

The next Motorola rumor for this MWC is nothing more and nothing less than the Moto X5, a mid-range phone, which will have a clean metallic design and will reduce bevels to a minimum. 5.9 – inch screen would, and although not shown in the picture on the front, where are the two chambers, there will be a tab like the iPhone X .

The screen according to a filtration of Droid Life  will have aspect ratio of 18: 9 and there will also be two rear cameras, following the current trends. Something important is that again in this phone is not appreciated where the fingerprint sensor will be, so we do not know if it will be on one side of the computer. Some websites venture to believe that it could be in the same place as the logo on the back of Motorola.
