Facebook Messenger Lite did not reach iOS during the start of the F8 2018 developer conference, but the company did give us a peek into a new version of the messaging platform.
During the conference, David Marcus, vice president of messaging products for Facebook, played a video of what would be the next generation of Facebook Messenger.
The new Facebook Messenger would focus on offering a more simplified design and would bring other novelties.
For example, the video showed that Messenger would allow each message to have more color variation and that the entire app could have a night mode, in which it would change the background color to a darker one.
In addition, the games and camera tab have been moved to another location and thus not have so many options present in the main screen.
Also, Marcus revealed that now it will be possible to share 4K photos and 360 videos through Messenger, and theconversations between different languages, such as from English to Spanish.
Marcus said that this new design has been developed since the beginning of 2018 and that it should be enabled “soon”.
