TCL took advantage of the of the IFA 2018 to publicize its new BlackBerry Key LE, an evolution of its model launched last June.

Both phones share many key features with each other, including the classic physical keyboard so appreciated by Blackberry fans. However, the new LE model comes with improvements and features for, according to the company itself, “reach a broader market.”

BlackBerry Key2 LE: Specifications

  • Screen : 4.5 inches with FullHD + resolution
  • Processor : Snapdragon 660
  • RAM : 6GB
  • Internal storage : 64GB
  • Battery : 3,100 mAh
  • Rear camera : dual 12 megapixels
  • Front camera: 5 megapixels

The Blackberry Key2 was the first phone of the brand to integrate dual rear camera and was a complete renovation against its predecessor, the Blackberry KeyOne.

The Key2 LE maintains the same internal specifications as the previous model: an eight-core Snapdragon 660 processor with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, almost the same battery amperage with a total of 3,100mAh and dual camera with two lenses of 12 megapixels.

As we can see, there are many similarities but, where do we observe the evolution between models? First, in the design. The new BlackBerry Key2 LE is made of a much lighter material to make it more comfortable to hold with one hand while maintaining the firm construction of its predecessor.

The front is almost identical to its predecessor, with a 4.5-inch screen and a physical keyboard located below it. What does change is the back, because although the logo of the brand is kept in the same position, it is covered with a material with much more relief to improve the grip.

In addition, TCL expands the range of colors in this model, with the addition of a color version in gold and another in red, something more informal than the classic BlackBerry black and with which the company hopes to reach a wider audience.

The rest of the changes focus on the software, with some improvements in its Locker security tool and in the DTEK security app that we saw in previous models.

Regarding the price, the new BlackBerry Key2 LE in its configuration of 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage will cost the US $ 449, a slightly more affordable price than the previous model that we remember came to the market in June for the US $ 529, another proof that BlackBerry seeks to approach a wider audience.
